Who we are
Linkwell ("Linkwell," "we," "us") is operated by [Legal business name], a [State] company. Linkwell is software that helps churches and ministries create QR codes, short links, link-in-bio pages, and welcome pages, and see how those links are used. This policy explains what information we collect through trylinkwell.com, the Linkwell app, and the links and pages churches create with it (together, the "Service"), and how we use it.
Information we collect
From church accounts. When a church leader or staff member signs up, we collect their name, email address, password (stored securely by our authentication provider), church or organization name, and the ministries, team members, QR codes, links, and page content they create.
Billing. Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Stripe collects and stores card details. We receive only a customer ID, plan, billing status, and limited details such as the card brand and last four digits.
QR scans and short link clicks. When someone scans a Linkwell QR code or opens a Linkwell short link, we record the time of the scan, the device operating system (from the browser's user agent), the referring page if any, and a one-way hashed version of the IP address. We do not store the raw IP address, and we do not use this data to identify individual people. Churches see this data only in aggregate, such as scans per day or per device type.
Welcome page and link-in-bio visitors. People who visit a page a church built with Linkwell are counted in the same way. If a church adds a form or links to an outside service (for example a giving platform or event signup), any information a visitor enters there is handled by that church or that service, not by Linkwell, unless we tell you otherwise.
Website visitors. Our marketing site may record basic usage data such as pages viewed and browser type. We do not sell this data or use advertising trackers. [Update this sentence if you add analytics or ad pixels.]
Communications. If you email us or reply to our emails, we keep that correspondence to help you.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide the Service, including redirecting QR codes and short links and showing churches their scan and click reports.
- Create and secure accounts, and let church admins invite and manage team members.
- Process payments, free trials, upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations.
- Send service emails such as sign-in links, receipts, trial reminders, and important changes. We send marketing emails only to account holders, and every one includes an unsubscribe link.
- Prevent abuse, such as links that point to spam, malware, or illegal content.
- Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.
- Meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Service providers
We share information only with companies that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit how they use it:
- Supabase: database, file storage, and sign-in.
- Vercel: website and app hosting.
- Stripe: payments and billing.
- Resend: transactional email.
- Google Fonts: web fonts on our marketing site. Your browser requests the fonts from Google, which receives your IP address.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights or safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
Churches and their visitors
Each church decides what links, pages, and content to publish with Linkwell and who it shares them with. For information about its own congregation and visitors, the church is responsible for how that information is collected and used, and Linkwell processes it on the church's behalf. If you visited a church's Linkwell page and have a question about your information, please contact that church first. We will help them respond.
Retention
We keep account information while your account is open. After an account is deleted, we delete or anonymize its data within [90] days, except where we must keep records for billing, tax, or legal reasons. Scan and click records are kept for as long as the account is open so churches can see trends over time.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed IP addresses, access controls, and reputable hosting providers to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Linkwell accounts are for adults acting for a church or ministry. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires). A church's public pages may be viewed by people of any age, and scan data from those views is not used to identify anyone.
Your rights and choices
You can view and update your account information in the app, and you can ask us to export or delete it. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, or to object to certain uses. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. To make a request, email [privacy@trylinkwell.com]. We may need to verify your identity first.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and notify account holders by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
